Morning visit
Elephanta Caves .
Earlier known as Gharapuri, the island capital of Konkan Mauryas is famous for its beautiful caves. These caves are located on a small island of Gharapuri, in the Arabian sea near Mumbai. The caves date back to 6th century A.D. and is a collection of shrines, courtyards, inner cells, grand halls and porticos arranged in the splendid symmetry of Indian rock-cut architecture, and filled with exquisite stone sculptures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, especially devoted to Lord Shiva. At the entrance of the cave is the famous
Trimurti, the Creator: Brahma, the Protector: Vishnu and the Destroyer: Shiva all three in unison. Other than this most of the sculptures denote Lord Shiva in his various moods and forms.
Afternoon visit
Mumbai (Bombay) the
commercial capital of India. Although Buddhist and Hindu dynasties ruled the region until around the 13th century, there were only scattered settlements on the island. Once, a sultry tropical archipelago cluster of seven islands, the British developed Bombay merging the seven islands into one.
Gateway of India built to commemorate the royal visit of
George V and Queen Mary in 1911, the Prince of Wales Museum housing collection of Indo Saracenic architecture,
Flora Fountain, Victoria Terminus, Malabar Hill and Mani Bhavan (Gandhi Home) are the places to visit.

Day 03
Morning transfer to airport to connect flight for
Calicut (Kozhikode).Upon arrival , a short orientation tour of the city. Kozhikode was the most important region of Malabar in the days gone by. Today , lush green country sides, serene beaches, historic sites, wildlife sanctuaries , rivers, hills , a unique culture and a warm, friendly ambience make Kozhikode a popular destination.
Later drive to
Wayanad.

Day 04
Full day at leisure to enjoy and explore the nature.

Day 05
Morning drive to
Guruvayur and on arrival, check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit
Sri Krishna Temple (Guruvayurappan Temple) (Non Hindus not allowed in the sanctum of the temple).
Also visit the
elephant camp at Punnathur Kotta where over forty elephants are groomed / trained.
Day 06
Morning drive to
Munnar, a popular hill station , 1600 m above see level , en-route visit
Kalmandalam dance school training in
Kathakali dance drama and other indigenous
performing arts of Kerala like
Mohiniyattam and Thullal.Upon arrival in Munnar, check in at hotel.
Afternoon visit to
Tea/ Spice Plantation.
Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands here is the
NeelaKurinji. This flower which bathes the hills in blue every twelve years, will bloom next in
2006 AD.
Munnar also has the highest peak in South India,
Anamudi, which towers over 2695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking.
Day 07
Morning drive to
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary(Thekkady).
Periyar Sanctuary is one of the best in the country for watching and photographing wildlife.
Arrive and stay at Hotel
Late afternoon boat ride to visit the sanctuary to view wildlife Periyar is dominated by two things -
the sanctuary and spices, plantation of tea, coffee and cardamom.

Day 08
Morning drive to Kumarakom a small village recognized as a backwater paradise on
The Vembanad Lake.
Arrive and check-in at Hotel Participate in some
water sports or visit
a local village or simple
spend the day relaxing in a peaceful and quite environment of the place.

Day 9
Late morning board the
house boat. This house boat is known as
'Kettuvallam', the traditional rice barge, with its sturdy build and stately carriage, feature single and two-bedroom houseboats, complete with kitchens, bathrooms and your own personal cooks-cum-attendants-cum-boatmen The boat hulls are made from seasoned 'Anjili' (Jackfruit) logs, that have a natural gentle curvature. Keels are flat, because the rivers here can get mighty shallow at times, and also to allow the boat to be easily punted. (They come with a quiet outboard motor too, so the boatman can get some rest).
Your boat moves towards the mouth of the
Kavanar river. Hmmm. It is difficult not to shut your eyes with the soft breeze soothing you and the gentle swinging speed of 6 miles an hour of the Kettuvallam, off the
Vembanad lake. It carries the cries of distant darter birds, surprisingly loud over the waters.

Day 10
Morning disembark from the house boats at
Alleppey and drive to
Mararikulam , with its endless miles of superb beaches.Day at leisure to enjoy the beach.

Day 11
Full day
excursion to Cochin and back .Sightseeing of Cochin city visiting
Jewish Synagogue , built in 1568 AD and decorated with copper plates bearing the Hebrew script and hand painted chinese tiles. Also visit the
Mattan-Cherry Palace also called the
Dutch Palace built by the Portugese and presented to the King of Cochin in 1555 AD. The
Chinese fishing nets at the entrance of the harbour, along the backwaters are a fascinating sight. These nets that line the sea front exhibit a mechanical method of catching traders to the
coast of Malabar.

Morning drive to
Kovalam, an internationally renowned Kovalam beach.Upon arrival check in at Hotel.

Trivandrum-The capital of Modern Kerala and the seat of erstwhile
Travancore Maharaja (King). Visit the

Transfer to airport to leave by air for

airport to fly back home\ onward destination
