Day 01 Chennai - Mahabalipuram
Arrive Chennai and transfer to Mahabalipuram Arrive and check-in at Hotel for
overnight stay
Day 02 Mahabalipuram
Afternoon half day visit the shore temple on the beach, five rathas and see the rock carvings.
Afternoon relax on the beach or enjoy the Ayurveda Therapy at the hotel.

Day 03 Mahabalipuram - Tiruchirapally
Morning transfer to Chennai Airport to leave by air for Tiruchirapalli.
Arrive and stay at Hotel. Late
afternoon half day city tour visiting Rock Fort with the Vinayaka temple at the top reached by climbing 437
steps and onto Government Museum and Tiruvanaikkaval.

Day 04 Tiruchirapally
Full day visit to Thanjavur to visit the magnificent Brahadeeswarar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which bears
witness to the glory of Chola architecture, sculpture and painting.
The Thanjavur Art Gallery has a priceless collection of bronze icons and granite sculptures dating from the 9th
century AD.

Day 05 Tiruchirapally - Madurai
Morning proceed by road to Madurai. Arrive and stay at Hotel.
Late afternoon half day city tour visiting the Meenakshi Temple-the huge temple complex with its immense
portals is quite overwhelming. The complex with its magnificient stone carvings was built in the 17th century
by the Nayaks of Madurai. See the thousand pillar hall and also see the Thirumalai Nayak Palace built in the
Indo Saracenic style in 1636 and Tiruparam-Kundram Temple.

Day 06 Madurai - Thekkady
Morning leave by road for Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Periyar is dominated by two things - the sanctuary and plantation of spices,tea, coffee and Cardamom.
Arrive and stay at Hotel.
Late afternoon boat ride at lake Periyar to view wildlife. Periyar Sanctuary is one of the best in the country
for watching and photographing wildlife.

Day 07 Thekkady - Kumarakom
Morning proceed by road for Kumarakom- a small village recognised as a backwater paradise on The Vembanad Lake.
Arrive and check-in at Hotel. Participate in water sports or visit to a local village or spend the day relaxing
in a peaceful and quite environment of the place or enjoy the Ayurveda Therapy at the hotel Overnight stay at

Day 08 Kumarakom - Cochin
Morning proceed by road to Cochin. Enroute backwater cruisefrom
Kottayam to Alleppey
Arrive and check-in at Hotel.

Day 09 Cochin
Morning half day city tour visiting the Jewish Synagogue, built in 1568 AD and decorated with copper plates
bearing the Hebrew script and hand painted Chinese tiles. The Ancient Catholic Church at Malayathur is
dedicated to ST. Thomas. Visit St.Francis Church in Fort cochin, built originally by the Portuguese in 1510 AD
and is believed to be the first church built by Europeans in India. Vasco-da-Gama was originally buried here
but forty years later his mortal remains were taken to Portugal.
Also visit the Mattan-Cherry Palace also
called the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese and presented to the King of Cochin in 1555 AD. The Chinese
fishing nets at the entrance of the harbour along the backwaters are a fascinating sight. These nets that line
the sea front exhibit a mechanical method of catching fish, introduced by Chinese traders to the coast of
Malabar.
Afternoon free or enjoy the Ayurveda Therapy at the hotel.
Evening witness the Kathakali Dance Programme.
Day 10 Cochin - Kovalam
Morning proceed by road to Kovalam.
Arrive and check-in at Hotel Le Meridien Beach Resort or Similiar.

Transfer to airport to leave by air for Chennai . Arrive and transfer to airport to fly back home\ onward
destination.
