Destinations Covered :- Delhi - Lucknow - Sravasti - Lumbini - Kushinagar - Vaishali - Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir - Bodhgaya - Varanasi - Sarnath -Delhi
Come and attain Nirvana - liberation from the sufferings of life , through the Buddhist trail of Bodhgaya,
Rajgir, Nalanda and Vaishali .... in the land of its origin. Also visit Lumbini in Nepal , the birth place of
Lord Budha.
Day 01. Delhi
Arrive & Transfer from International Airport to Hotel for overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 02. Delhi-Lucknow-Saravasti
Morning after breakfast departure transfer to airport to depart for Lucknow. Lucknow- Arrive & transfer Airport
to hotel for Lunch. Later proceed to Sravasti.
Saravasti - Also known as Sahet-Mahet ,are two different site's , the main one being Sahet and about 500
meters away is located Mahet. Saravasti was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala. Here, according to
legend, the Buddha confounded his critics by conjuring a miraculous million fold self - maintaind seated on a
thousand petalled lotus , as fire and water emanated from his body.
Dinner and overnight stay at Sravasti.
Day 03. Saravasti - Lumbini
Morning after breakfast proceed to Lumbini. On arrival check in at hotel followed by lunch.
On the full moon day, Prince Siddhartha was born in Lumbini under the Sala tree. According to custom , Queen
Maya was returning to her parental home for childbirth . On the way , her royal caravan rested here . Today ,
no trace remains of the ancient village of Lumbini, but an Ashokan column , the famous Rummindei pillar , which
commemorated the emperor's visit in 249 BC, still stands to mark the sacred spot of the Buddha's nativity.
Evening dinner at hotel and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04. Lumbini - Kushinagar
Morning after breakfast drive down to Kushinagar. On arrival check in at hotel Kushinagar followed by lunch.
Kushinagar - The Shakyamuni, Gautam Buddha breathed his last ( Mahaparinirvana ) here, saying "Decay is
inherent in all things".
Dinner and overnight in Kushinagar.
Day 05. Kushinagar - Vaishali - Patna
After breakfast at Kushinagar drive down to Patna. Lunch
in a midway restaurant between Kushinagar and Vaishali
at “ZEN” in Chakiya.
Vaishali - a small village surrounded by banana and mango groves and rice fields. vaishali was rich centre for
trade and industry. Lord Buddha visited this place frequently and at Kolhua, close by, preached his last sermon
Dinner in Patna. Overnight in Patna.
Day 06. Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir - Bodhgaya
Morning after breakfast drive down to Bodhgaya. Enroute lunch in Rajgir at Hotel Hokke via Nalanda unvesity
ruins.
Nalanda is famous as an ancient seat of learning . The ruins of one of the world's most ancient university.
Founded in the 5th Centuary AD, this great seat of learning flourished until the 12th Century. Both the
founders of the two religions Buddhism and Jainism, the Buddha and Parsvanath Mahavir, visited Nalanda. The
Chinese chronicler Huien Tsang spent many years here both as a student and as a teacher.
Rajgir is 12 kms south of Nalanda on the road to Bodhgaya and is located in a verdant valley surrounded by
rocky hills. It is sacred to the memory of founders of both Buddhism and Jainism . Lord Buddha spent many
months of retreat during the rainy season here and used to meditate and preach on the Griddhankuta, the hill of
the Vultures.
An aerial ropeway provides the link with a heltop stupa builtby the Japanese. One of the hills is the cave of
Saptparni, the first Buddhist Council was held. The Saptparni cave is also the source of the Rajgir hot water
springs

that have curative properties and are sacred to Hindus.
Dinner and overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
Day 07.
Bodhgaya
Full day sightseeing of Bodhgaya. ( Breakfast ,Lunch & Dinner at Hotel)
Here under the Bodhi tree (Tree of Awakening). Shakyamuni Gautama attained supreme knowledge to become Buddha,
the "Enlightened One" ,, the propounder of one of the great religions of the world. The tree that stands today
is believed to have grown from the original Peepal tree under which Lord Buddha meditated. River Niranjana in
which the Buddha bathed after attaining enlightenment flows quietly outside the tiny hamlet where the story of
Prince Siddhartha ended and the saga of the Buddha began.
Day 08. Bodhgaya - Varanasi
Morning after breakfast proceed to Varanasi . Upon arrival check in at hotel.
Afternoon visit to Sarnath- the holy shrine of the Buddhist where LORD BUDDHA preached his first sermon after
he had gained Enlightenment.
Day 09. Varanasi - Delhi
Morning Ghat tour. After lunch departure transfer to airport to leave for Delhi.
Upon arrival at Delhi ,transfer airport to Hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10. Delhi
After breakfast half day city tour of Old Delhi visiting Raj Ghat -
The Mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi. Jama
Masjid - the biggest Mosque in India and drive past Red Fort and tricycle tour of Chandini Chowk.
After lunch half day city tour of New Delhi Drive past President House, Parliament House (House of
Representatives) and India Gate - War Memorial (stop for photography), Qutab Minar - 72.55 meters, high Victory
Tower, onto Bahai Temple (lotus temple) Humayun's Tomb- built of red sandstone and is a first substantial
example of the Mughal architecture, Laxmi Narayan Temple - a modern Hindu temple built by the Birlas, leading
Indian industrialists.
After early dinner transfer to International Airport to fly back home.
